Dr. Somak Roy

Dr. Somak Roy is an Associate Professor of Pathology at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). Dr. Roy is a board-certified molecular pathologist and clinical informaticist and serves as the Director of Molecular Pathology in the Division of Pathology at CCHMC. He was the Director of Molecular Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). His clinical and translational work focuses on the 1) Use of modern computational infrastructure and innovative software development for molecular diagnostics, bioinformatics, and healthcare data security. 2) Development of novel clinical molecular tests for cancer genomics and infectious diseases for pediatric and young adult patients. Dr. Roy is a nationally recognized expert in clinical bioinformatics and molecular diagnostics. He has contributed significantly to this field via several scientific peer-reviewed publications and active involvement in several national working groups and professional societies in molecular diagnostics.
